Since 1966, Swedish people of Gävle started this Christmas tradition of erecting a Yule goat out of straws at the middle of Castle Square in central Gävle. Since 1986 two Yule Goats started to be built in Gävle. One by A group of businessmen known as the Southern Merchants and another Yule Goat built by the Natural Science Club. What is more interesting about the Gävle Goat is that it was burnt 29 times since they started this tradition and nobody knows what the reason behind burning it is and who is behind this action.
